We are Bike Labyrinth, a young international organization known in the Netherlands as Fietslabyrint. Our interactive movement system, Bike Labyrinth, encourages people in care facilities (and beyond!) to engage in fun, low-pressure physical activity, improving their quality of life.

Bike Labyrinth allows people who can no longer go outside independently to take virtual bike rides, from rural landscapes to bustling cities. With a team of 25 employees, we work daily towards our mission: getting as many people cycling as possible, regardless of age, disability, or weather conditions.

We’re growing and evolving rapidly, aiming to get the whole world cycling. To help us achieve this, we’re looking for a Junior React Native Developer / UI-UX Designer to strengthen our software team.

What will you do?

As a Junior React Native Developer and UI/UX Designer, you’ll work at the heart of our product, developing user-friendly, visually appealing, and technically robust software. Your contributions will be essential in making our apps and games even better for our users.

UI/UX Design:

• Design user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for our apps and games.
• Optimize the user experience by incorporating feedback from users.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure a consistent look and feel across all our products.
• Create prototypes and wireframes to develop and test new ideas.

React Native Development:

• Build new features or games using React Native and TypeScript.
• Fix bugs and maintain existing software to ensure technical quality.
• Contribute to innovations that improve the functionality and user experience of our products.
• Develop integrations between software and hardware components, such as various types of sensors.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the lead developer, team coordinator, and other developers to execute planned projects effectively.
• Provide input on designing new functionalities and improvements.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone (32–40 hours per week) who:

• Has experience as a software developer with a focus on front-end or React Native.
• Has a passion for UI/UX design and can create user-friendly interfaces.
• Has experience with tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Is preferably familiar with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Is creative, flexible, and solution-oriented.
• Enjoys working independently, developing innovative ideas, and taking ownership of their projects.
• Thrives in a growing company and is eager to implement improvements.
