We are Fietslabyrint, a young international organization based in the Netherlands, operating under the name Bike Labyrinth abroad. Our interactive movement system, the Bike Labyrinth, aims to encourage people in care facilities (and beyond!) to exercise in a fun, casual way, thereby improving their quality of life. In short, we want to make people happier and healthier!

Bike Labyrinth allows people who can no longer go outside independently to take virtual bike rides, from rural landscapes to metropolitan areas. With a team of approximately 25 employees, we strive every day to get as many people as possible cycling, regardless of age, limitations, or weather conditions.

We are growing and evolving rapidly, and our ultimate goal is to get the whole world cycling. That’s why we’re looking for a new addition to our software team: someone who, under the leadership of and in collaboration with a team coordinator, can lead a group of developers and elevate our software to the next level.

What will you do?

As a Lead Developer, you will become part of the software development team. This team is responsible for maintaining and further developing the software within Bike Labyrinth. The team currently consists of 2–3 full-time developers, supported by a team coordinator, who is responsible for the product and planning.

• You will work with 2–3 developers on various products, including the Care Product (Android), our Club App (iOS and Android), the website, and potentially new products.
• The tech stack for our Care Product includes React Native and TypeScript. For other projects, we also use PHP and Git/GitHub.

Your tasks will include:

• Actively contributing to and building innovations that improve the product and the company.
• Collaborating with the team coordinator to carefully plan and design new developments, as well as outlining what’s needed to further develop functionalities.
• Taking on a leading role to ensure the technical quality of our products.
• Working on the connection between the software and various hardware components, such as different types of sensors.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone (32–40 hours per week) who:

• Has extensive experience as a software developer.
• Has experience developing with React Native.
• Is knowledgeable and experienced in version control (Git/GitHub), unit testing, and working in Scrum environments.
• Enjoys sharing technical knowledge with Junior Developers.
• Can review code and design/maintain software architecture.
• Works in a structured and organized manner.
• Is a team player and works well collaboratively.
• Enjoys working in a growing company and isn’t afraid to implement improvements.
