On the road to Germany: 11 hours of driving, demos and care innovations
October 22, 2024

Not only in the Netherlands, where our office is located, is cycling missed when it can no longer be done independently – worldwide, it's a popular way to stay active. That’s why we sell Bike Labyrinth globally. We also have our own team in Germany, which means our CEO & Founder, Ella Keijzer, occasionally travels eastward. This was the case at the beginning of October.

"I knew Germany was a large country, but driving for 11 hours and still only covering a small part of it was really an eye-opener!" Ella didn’t take the train or bike this time but drove a fully-loaded van with Bike Labyrinth systems. This was because we deliver many Bike Labyrinth systems in Germany, so it made sense to bring them along (if you’re driving for 11 hours anyway… why not?).

Ella visited colleague Adam Robertson for two days to deliver demos through Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg. During a demo, care institutions can try out Bike Labyrinth for free at their own location. “The response was fantastic – it was so valuable to see how excited everyone was about our solution and how it can make a difference in the lives of the elderly and people with disabilities," says Ella.

In addition to the demos and customer visits, Ella went to Germany to visit the Evangelische Heimstiftung GmbH. According to Ella, it was the highlight of her trip: "During my visit to Germany, I also got to attend our pitch, where Adam had the opportunity to present our innovation. Alongside Bike Labyrinth, there were 9 other startups showcasing their interesting and inspiring innovations. Bernhard Schneider, the CEO, was incredibly hospitable and open to integrating these innovations into his organization."

Besides Adam, Sigrid van Dijk also works for our German team, but from the Netherlands. She ensures that all appointments are in place and that the demos are delivered to the right place at the right time. However, our German team isn’t complete yet. We’re still looking for a new colleague who is enthusiastic about our product and sales. Interested? Check out our (German) job vacancy here.
