Motivating elderly people to exercise more isn’t always easy. Residential care centers in Brugge (Belgium) use Bike Labyrinth to make indoor cycling on an exercise bike more pleasant. Senior care consultant Martine Meganck likes to see how the residents enjoy themselves while virtually cycling through European cities: “You can tell by the look on their faces that they really enjoy the bike tours. They see places where they have never been before and discover new things. An average ride takes about half an hour, but most of the people don’t mind to cycle even longer. It is pure relaxation!”

Jeremy Celis, Bike Labyrinth distributor in Belgium, also sees many benefits: “The realistic cycling experience immerses people in the interactive bike tours. People with mild dementia benefit from the tours as well. You see them flourish when they recognize the city where they grew up. It is a rediscovery of the world they will never see again in real life. That is the greatest gift you can give.”
